About this Blog and Blogger

Welcome to "Historical Friction", a blog dedicated to reinvigorating history for the modern student! How many times have people complained about a historical discussion or topic being "boring"? In my experience, it's been too much to count. As a student and history buff myself, it saddened me to see my peers more interested in what was on their phones than some of the major events that shaped our modern world. As many have often said, "those who ignore history are destined to repeat it,"; I'm certainly not going to stand by and let that happen. But what I also noticed was that the teachers themselves seemed disinterested in historical topics, and would often result in barely teaching anything in the rush to get it over with. So, this blog was created for the purpose of making history fun again, offering new ways to teach certain topics as well as insights into why history in general has become an "evil" in the 21st century society. The connection between history and amusement (aka friction) is much closer than many realize, and it only takes a good teacher and the right attitude to make learning about WWII or the History of the Tudors entertaining to people of all ages.

This blog is not just a tool for teachers, but also a tool for students who just can't seem to find history interesting. Trust me, I understand finding a topic boring (my middle school record could convince you of that); I hope that any visitors will be able to take away a better understanding of why the past matters in the present. Above all else, I want you to have fun, and use what you learn here to help you out in the future. So, once again, I welcome you to Historical Friction, where history and fun are simply a click away.
